Rosemary is an herb which originated in the Mediterranean region. Rosemary has a long history of medicinal use, as ancient Romans believed rosemary increased memory.
Elizabeth Dyke used rosemary for both medicinal and culinary purposes. In food, Dyke used rosemary as a seasoning in various dishes. Rosemary is an ingredient in Dyke’s recipe for deafness and noise in the head, weakness of the brain, headache, and for the liver and lungs.
